Pray for families. Families are a crucial social unit for any neighborhood, and they can weather some significant challenges, especially in New York. Pray for parents, aunts, grandparents, uncles, cousins, siblings, and children.

Pray for relationships between neighbors. That neighbors would learn from each other’s differences and find common ground in their community. Pray for neighbors who have called Hell’s Kitchen home for generations, and new neighbors who are making this neighborhood their new home. Pray that your neighbors and residents of Hell’s Kitchen will know Jesus more deeply in their lives and have the opportunity to flourish as a community.

Pray for local churches. Neighborhood churches are too often disconnected from the communities in which the congregation meets. Pray that we would see congregations committed to serving the residents and representing the hands and feet of Jesus all over Hell’s Kitchen.

Pray for safety and peace. A neighborhood where all residents feel welcomed and safe is one that is glorifying to God. Pray God would allow your neighbors to find safety in their living, working, and social situation.

Pray for local politicians and leaders. Many neighborhoods experience marginalization when important decisions are being made. Pray for community voices to be heard in matters that impact them at the local, city, and state levels. Pray for Community Board 4, our board Chair Lowell D. Kern and our District Manager Jesse Bodine, Council Speaker Corey Johnson, and Manhattan borough president Gale Brewer.
